ORIPA - Origami Pattern Editor
ORIPA for Android is a mobile version of Jun Mitani's ORIPA desktop application, designed for origami designers and enthusiasts. With this app, users can test their crease pattern ideas even while on the go. Whether you're away from your computer or on a long flight to an origami convention, ORIPA for Android allows you to explore and experiment with origami designs.
The app offers a range of tools to draw, check, and fold crease patterns. It is also compatible with the desktop version of ORIPA, allowing users to import and export crease patterns as OPX or CP files. Additionally, users can save images of crease patterns and folded models as PNG or SVG files.
ORIPA for Android supports multi-touch gestures, such as pinch-to-zoom, two-fingered panning, and two-fingered rotating of folded models. It is available in both landscape and portrait orientations, providing a comfortable user experience.
It's important to note that ORIPA can only fold 2D models and does not support the checking and folding of 3D origami models. The app also only allows for drawing straight lines, without support for curved lines. Furthermore, ORIPA assumes that users have existing knowledge of crease pattern analysis and basic geometry.
ORIPA for Android is a valuable tool for origami enthusiasts who want to explore and experiment with crease patterns on the go. However, it does not provide instruction on how to design or understand origami crease patterns.
